Vicki McGrath is a Chicago-based gouache and acrylic painter with a lifelong passion for art. A self-taught artist, Vicki has been expressing herself through art since she could first hold a crayon. Specializing in still life, she draws inspiration from everyday objects, capturing the beauty of fruits, flowers, animals, and knickknacks.
With over two decades of almost daily painting, Vicki has refined her distinctive, Modern Impressionistic style. Her process emphasizes using minimal brushstrokes to convey her subject, and a strong focus on color, light, and shadow to create movement in the painting. This approach allows her to vividly capture the essence of her subjects, emphasizing contrast and variety within compositions. Vicki's bold brushstrokes and vibrant palette bring a joyful and colorful presence to her work.
